AFC arrives in London for a presentation in front of leading british film and TV producers

As part of the “Internationalization Programme for Local Production Processes” and “Apulian Excellence 2012” (to encourage competition and international recognition of the Apulia Region’s local economy), a delegation from the Apulia Film Commission Foundation will be in London on Friday 20 July. The group, including Board Councillor Francesco Asselta, CEO Silvio Maselli, EU Projects Supervisor Cristina Piscitelli and Productions Supervisor Daniele Basilio, will be presenting details of its activities and services for leading British film and TV producers. During the meeting, representatives of the Apulia Film Commission will show members of the British audiovisual industry the film-making opportunities offered by the region as well as the numerous services provided by the Apulia Film Commission to audiovisual production companies. Part of the presentation is also dedicated to the funds allocated to film projects set in Apulia, in particular the Hospitality Fund and International Film Fund. Read all »

“Giraffada” is the first beneficiary of the Apulia International Film Fund

Giraffada is a story set in Palestine on the border of the West Bank, near the wall separating the area from the Israeli colonies. Yacine is a vet in a zoo which is home to a couple of giraffes, Rita and Brownie, the only true love of her son, Ziad. The Apulia Film Commission approved the list of the productions have been admitted to second session of Hospitality funding (deadline 30th Aprile), dedicated to movie companies interested in shooting in Puglia in 2012.

AFC will introduce its new International Fund in Cannes

The Apulia Film Commission Foundation will be in Cannes (16-27 May) to present its new international fund in support of foreign film productions, the “Apulia International Film Film”, direct financial support in the form of a free grant to cover the costs of production for European and non-European audiovisual, film and TV production companies presenting projects for full-length fiction films, TV films and TV series. Public Notice supplementary addendum for Hospitality Funding, deadline 31 august 2012

The Apulia Film Commission approved a supplementary addendum for Hospitality Funding – Public Notice issued on 21 December 2011.

Hospitality Fund can be used to cover (completely or partially) costs directly incurred by production companies while operating in Apulia. Its cost categories include accommodation, board (refreshments, catering, packed meals) and travel and transport within the Apulia region (including vehicle hire).
The grant is provided with support from the European Regional Development Fund (Actions 4.3.1 and 4.1.2) and can be combined with the Apulia National Film Fund grant.
The financial resources available for Hospitality Funding as set out in the current document amount to a total of €200,000 (two hundred thousand euros).
The maximum Hospitality Funding grants available are €100,000 for full length feature films, TV films and TV series, €20,000 for documentaries and €15,000 for shorts and videoclips: funding parameters will be determined as a percentage from the amount of grant available for the August session as well as on the basis of points assigned by the Selection Committee.
Through the axis 4.3.1.and 4.1.2. of the ERDF, Apulia Film Commission has the resources for hospitality funding for those production companies which intend to use Puglia for film projects that must be completed by September 2012.

The deadline for applications is 31th August 2012.

Closing The Gap – Equity Investment for 360° Content

It’s a training course for film and TV producers
 offered by film financing consultancy peacefulfish, the pan-European investor network Media Deals, and international tutors and experts with the support of The MEDIA Programme, The Apulia Film Commission, and The Mallorca Film Commission

The training is focused on understanding the investment criteria and deal terms of different types of equity investors (venture capital funds, business angels and business angel networks, public/private funds, mediatech financiers, etc.) business plan development for pitching to these investors building added-value in film and television projects through developing their transmedia potential.
