3rd Edition of Mediterranean Coproduction Forum

For the third year running, the Apulia Film Commission Foundation, with the collaboration of the Apulia Region – Internationalization Services for Development, Work and Innovation, presents the third edition of the Mediterranean Coproduction Forum at the Apulia Cineport Hub/Bari on 26th and 27th October, 2012.

The Mediterranean Coproduction Forum aims to support film projects which are linked to the Mediterranean and the Balkans, facilitating meetings and partnerships between professionals of the sector, such as producers, financial backers, marketing experts and distributors, allowing the participants to present their projects and an opportunity to “test” them during the development phase as well as getting in contact with potential financial partners and therefore, a rich experience that will help at later stages of the production.

“After the great participation and results obtained by the first two editions – indicates Silvio Maselli, director of the Apulia Film Commission –, this year the Foundation has decided to use the Forum as an opportunity to bring professionals from the cinema industry as well as the larger audio-visual industry closer together, as well as to listen and eventually support the best filmic projects. This event, by Apulia Film Commission, enriches further the building strategy of the audio-visual sector, allowing for exchanges attaining to better production methods, financial resources, in order to permit and facilitate making movies in Apulia”.

The programme announces meetings between producers, film commissioners, writers, directors in order to benefit coproduction processes and an exchange of best practices to better the operational aspects of the Forum’s participants.

The participating projects, chosen by Alberto La Monica and the Apulia Film Commission, will be presented by their directors and producers. The particularity is that these projects are all only partially financed and “almost ready” in terms of script, cast and organization, but waiting for further financing to start shooting. The Forum’s goal is to organize one to one meetings between the projects’ representatives and potential financers.

The Mediterranean Coproduction Forum is being held with the Patronage of Eurimages and with ACE and Sofia Meetings’ collaboration.

The Application Form deadline is 10th September, and it can be downloaded from our website www.forum.apuliafilmcommission.it.
